High school football: Sarratt gets it in gear, driving Colonial ...

STAFFORD-STORRS, CT — Despite more snow in the Wednesday forecast, today is the first day of spring, and with the winter sports season now behind us, it is time to look ahead to a multitude of spring sports, and rekindle the optimism that a championship season is on the horizon. Practice is now underway for all seven CIAC-sanctioned spring sports in Connecticut, with track and field being the last to start on Monday.

Stafford and E.O. Smith high schools have experienced limited success during the spring campaign, with just two state titles dating back to 1969 for the Bulldogs, and one from 1998 for the Panthers. Here are the state championships won by those teams in the past, as well as a link to this spring’s schedule of contests.
